Hannah’s Birthday

To Hannah,

Who today would have been eleven
Had she not gone too soon to heaven.
We’re still grieving…our hearts still ache
There may be ten more but that doesn’t take
Away the longing
For one so loved by all.

Sometimes it seems we go through the paces;
Days filled with routine and familiar faces…
It almost could be that you never left
But then “real” hits and we’re so bereft.
Where is heaven Hannah?
We can’t reach so tall!

We re-live your happy days on earth,
Picturing your energy and your mirth.
We mourn over pictures that remind of you
There are memories in so many other things, too.
All of a little girl
Who answered God’s call.

We miss you Hanna.
